Mission Statement

Standard Door Supply, a division of New England Standard Corp., is a Connecticut-based small business that was formed in 1984, and is the offspring of a successful family-run garage door company that was originally formed in 1960. Our business is selling sectional and rolling doors and electric operators for residential, commercial and institutional applications. We presently have locations in Milford and Old Saybrook, CT, Worcester and Braintree, MA, Portland, ME, Englewood, NJ and Derry, NH.

All locations sell to large and small retail outlets, a dealer base that also subcontracts installation work, a builder / contractor base, and discounted end users. Each locations’ proportionate mix of these distribution channels is a result of the maturity of the retail and dealer markets in their respective geographic areas.

The customer funds our total endeavor and is therefore our number one priority. It is imperative that both supply our customers with the best products and services they require, and that we actively seek their input and approval to ensure our long term growth and success. Communicating with the customer effectively, professionally, honestly and in a timely manner is the very heart and soul of our business.

Our network of subcontractors is unsurpassed in the industry. The professionalism they exhibit while expediting the installation functions of several national and regional accounts that we administer has become the “Standard” by which competing installation programs are measured.

We take pride in the fact that our core employees work in a tireless, efficient and professional manner. We work a traditional five-day week, adjusting it only moderately for the fall busy season. For this reason, our people can maintain a healthy quality of life. We are committed to advancing people from within the organization as much as their talents and ambitions will allow. We also have a compensation program that returns a higher percentage of proceeds back to the employee than is common within the industry. Our core group of men and women, truly an example of the Darwinian maxim of survival of the fittest, are hard-working, honest and formidable door people and worthy of our respect.
